Q: Do you rent gowns for Wedding?
No, NOT A CHANCE, PLEASE run away from anyone who trys to rent them to you. The manufactures do not make these gowns to be used over and over as some may feel they can be worn rough, the person who finds a rental gown before their event are lucky if it isn't damaged beyond repair when it is their turn to wear it.
Q: When should I register my wedding?
A: Weddings should be registered at least three months in advance or when she tells you. She may need you to do it sooner and that is just fine.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: No. You can come in anytime to register your wedding. If you like to have on that's ok too.
Q: When should the wedding party get fitted?
A: It's best to have everyone fitted by at least one month before the wedding. Ring bearers or small children, however, only should be fitted two to three weeks before the wedding.
Q: What if someone is from out of town?
A: They can either get measured at our location or at any tuxedo store near them. Then they may mail, fax, phone or e-mail their measurements to our store. See submit measurements link.
Q: When should we pay for the tuxes?
A: When they submit thier measurements we ask for a $25 prepayment for the tuxedos and the remainder is required before the tuxedo leaves the store.
Q: Do you carry wedding invitations?
A: Yes. We carry invitations by Birchcraft. Be sure to shop their online link for the best selection
Q: What specials do you offer?
A: Wedding specials vary. Please check with the manager on the type of discount you are interested in, we match all local stores discounts and beat them in most cases.
Q: When are the tuxes ready? Due back?
A: Check with your customer service representative to set up the date that best fits for you. But if you are in doubt, pick up the day before and return the day after. We like returns on Sunday/Monday the most if you pick them up Thursday or Friday.
Q: Does experience doing tuxedos count?
A: Absolutely. We have been doing tuxedos for over 36 years. Anyone can put a tuxedo together-- you have one day- your day, who would you trust to do it right?

Q: When should I order a gown for a social or prom?
A: If you found the dress you like...NOW if you wait you run the chance someone else from your school will come to Ducky's get that dress instead of you. Why wait to find yourself in a panic looking to get it anywhere they may have one left?
Q. What is your Return Policy on prom gowns?
A. Many stores have ''The dress industry is very unique. Therefore, there will be no exchanges or returns. All sales are final. You will find this to be very common with brick and mortar boutiques.'' At Ducky's please veiw our ''Terms & Conditions'' page as for gown purchases- we are a customer service store!
Q. Do you keep track of what dresses have been sold?
A. Yes, Ducky's has a computerized system that allows us to keep track of what dresses have been sold to a certain school/event. We do not sell the same dress, in the same color, to the same event.
Q. How do I place an order?
A. Once you find the item you are interested in click on it and you will be taken to the products detail page. On that page, you can select your size(please feel free to use the size chart), and color. Once you have selected your size and color click on ''add to cart''. On the next screen double check your order and then click on ''Confirm Order''. The next step will be to fill out your shipping and billing information. There will also be a very short questionaire that we will need in order to complete your order and provide you with a better shopping experience. Finally, click on ''process order''!
Q. Can I place an order over the phone?
A. Yes, and so you can have a paper trail of your order we can mail or fax one to you as well as receive e-mail notifications on all status updates for your order.
Q. Is there sales tax?
A. Sales tax is applied to all orders with an Illinois address. Our sales tax in Champaign, IL is 8.75%.
Q. What if my dress is not available?
A. If your dress is not in stock and for some reason we cannot order it directly from the designer, we will notify you and give you other options to choose from or you can cancel your order. If we can fulfill your order we will charge your card.
Q. Why are there pictures up of dresses that are not available?
A. Dresses are available all year long. However, it depends on your wear date if it will be available or not. That's why it is best to start shopping in December and January for Prom and June for Homecoming as you have the widest selection and availability of dresses.
Q. I tried on a size 8 will that be my correct size?
A. On every product detail page you will have the option to view the size chart for the designer of the dress you are ordering. Keep in mind that over 94% of special occasion dresses need alterations. We are not responsible for dresses that do not fit, those size charts are direct from the manufacturers. They cut their dresses according to those size measurements not yours. If you try a sample it is only that; manufacturers do not guarantee it's size and/or it's fit may be unique. If your measurments are in between sizes we recommend going up a size as it's easier to take a dress in than let a dress out.
Q. What is a wear by date?
A. A wear date is the date on which you are wearing the dress.
Q. Do you have a brick and mortar establishment?
A. Yes, we are happy to say we have just at 6,000 square foot location at 134 East University Ave.,Champaign, Il 61820. Ducky's as a family business, and has been in business for over 65 years. We have owned our location and Duckys for just over 36 years and are blessed to say we are the largest prom, bridal, and formalwear expert in Central Illinois!
Q. Do you take appointments to try on prom dresses in the store?
A. No, but if you are in sports or an after school function that you are not able to come in durring regular store hours we will make an appointment for you. You must have parent or payment method with you.
Q. Do you have in house alterations?
A. Yes, we do. However, our self employed seamstresses have their own hours. For convenience we will have a seamstress available in store during every day durring prom season.
Q. Who pays for the alterations?
A. Alterations are paid for by the customer. Your dress must be paid in full before alterations will occur. Ducky's has no control over the price of alterations, the seamstresses have their own pricing. However, they are extremely reasonable for the work they do.
Q: When do I need to book my tux?
A: We reserve prom tuxedos anytime after February 1st. Since our tuxes are in stock, reserving is on a first come, first serve basis. So come in early to ensure the best selection. Purchasers of prom gowns may choose color coordinated acessories for her date's consideration.
Q: Do I have to make a down payment?
A: Yes. A $25 non-refundable pre-payment is required when you reserve your tux.
Q: Do you have garters?
A: Yes, during prom we do carry a wide variety. Prices range from $6.95 to $35.
Q: Do you Have Rush order charges, change of order charges, mandatory damage insurance or sales tax on tuxedo rentals?
A: NO, BUT OTHERS DO!
